Why Your Training Program is Failing
Have you been working out but you are still failing to achieve your goals?
Do you want to know why you are failing?
Chances are, you probably have the right work out program, but you don't have good people guiding you and giving you proper advice. That's why your workouts doesn't work.
You may be trying to lose weight, to look slimmer and to feel fitter. And you are working your butt off, but nothing seems to work!
Instead, you grow more tired and feel less fit. It's supposed to be the other way round, you think.
And you are right.
Many people think that working out is everything. They learn this from the media. Every time you go watch a movie or a tv program, it's always the hero working out like mad and then starting to look strong and fit.
There is nothing wrong with working hard. But tv programs and movies are mostly for entertainment. They show you only the exciting stuff. But what happens to behind the scenes stuff? Those are boring stuff, and you never get to see them.
I'm talking about proper rest and diet.
You see, your muscles don't grow while you are working out. Instead, you are breaking them apart during your workouts. Feel every fibre in your muscles burning as you move? That's a good workout.
Your muscles grow AFTER the workout. That's where most people fail. They don't know what to do after the workout.
Do you?
Well, because your muscles are growing after the work out, you should be getting ample of rest and nutrition. You need to feed those muscles! Otherwise, they won't grow.
The main ingredient that helps in muscle growth is protein.
But before you go running out to load up on lots of protein, know that there is another trap waiting for you.
If you want to lose weight, you want a high protein and low calories diet.
The problem is, most people don't know how to find the right balance between the two. A protein bar is high in protein, but they also often contain calories that exceed the required amount.
Many diary products are high in protein, but if you read the nutritional labels, you know that they also have excessive calories.
If you consume the same amount of calories as you burn, you are not going to lose weight. You may put on muscle, but you won't lose the fat. That's not good.
You want to build muscle, and lose fat. The trick is in knowing how to balance between protein and calories. Go as low as you can on your calorie count, and higher on protein.
Of course, you need to work out how much protein and calorie you consume each day.
For protein, you need about 1g for every pound of weight.
For calories, here is a general guide:
Men: 19-50yrs 2,550 Women: 19-50yrs 1,940
You see, it's very easy to exceed the daily calorie intake. Take an average male. The daily consumption is recommended at 2,550 calories. The average person only takes about 4 meals a day. Divide 2,550 by 4, you get about 640 calories per meal.
Now take a look at the meals that most people take for each meal. Fast food, dining out at restaurants, etc. You think each meal has less than 640 calories? Very unlikely.
That's why it's so easy to gain weight!
And considering that most modern city dwellers don't even exercise. You get the idea how bad the picture is.
So no matter what you do, always figure out a way to eat right.
If you want to save time, there are always recipes for fast cooking meals that are healthy and tasty. You just need to start looking.
Now you know why your work outs are failing - you are neglecting your diet.
Learning how to eat right is as important as learning how to workout and exercise regularly. It's the missing half of the equation.
