Why My Diet is Not Working
Is your diet failing? Are you wondering why your diet is failing? We will tell you why.
Chances are, you may be starting out on some kind of "starvation diet". A starvation diet is when you try to eat less and less in an attempt to lose weight.
Unfortunately, 2 things that you don't want to happen will happen if you choose to go the starvation route.
First, you will become weaker and your overall health will decline.
Why?
Because your body needs to eat well to stay healthy, and you are not feeding it with the vitamins and nutrients that it needs to continue to function normally.
Secondly, your metabolism will decline. As you starve yourself, your body starts to store fat. It needs to conserve energy because it doesn't know when it's going to get its next meal. So it starts to evolve and start to bulk up. That cannot be good.
So what happens is that you initially lose weight. You lose weight because you are losing muscles. You are becoming weaker, not healthier.
Then when you finally can't take it anymore, you go on binging sprees. You eat and eat and eat because you have been starving yourself for so long.
Guess what.
You are likely to become heavier than before. Your metabolism rate has declined. So it can't cope very well with all that food that you are consuming so suddenly.
Now you know why your diet is failing.
If you want to lose weight, starvation diets are not the way to go.
You can never win. It's always an uphill climb, and you know it. Sooner or later, you have to come back down.
For your weight loss program to be successful, forget about dieting. Start thinking about how to incorporate proper exercise into your lifestyle and start eating right.
The goal is to increase your metabolism so that the body can burn off fat naturally.
Ever notice how some people can eat and eat and never grow fat? While it's true that some people are born with a high rate of metabolism, that's not always the case.
Most people who can eat a lot and not grow fat simply know how to keep their metabolism rate high. And the only way to do that is to have a good workout plan.
Now your workout plan cannot be one that has low intensity exercises like leisure walking or jogging.
If you want to grow fit, you have to exercise intensely.
Sure, its harder to start in the beginning but the fact is, intense exercise works!
You find that you spend less time on exercising, but you grow fitter.
How come?
When you exercise intensely, you are pushing your muscles to the limit. The muscles break down and starts to rebuild again.
When it does, it makes sure that it becomes stronger so that it can cope with the additional stress that you are giving it. That's how muscles grow!
Now if you are a lady, you must be worried about bulking muscles.
Your worries are unfounded.
For the female body, it is very difficult to put on bulky muscles. It's in your genetic code.
You see those big ladies in magazines? They usually take some kind of supplements to achieve that kind of results.
For the average fitness enthusiast, you don't need such supplements. The result of working out will be a toned body.
A tone body looks healthier and is certainly stronger. You will feel fitter and brimming with energy. And you continue to pursue your dreams with zest.
The best part is, lean and tone muscles help to burn fat, even when you are not working out. That means more calories burnt each day, without you having to spend time in the gym.
Now it's your turn to eat all your favorite food and not become fat! But remember, everything in moderation. That's the golden rule. You want to take desserts, coffee, fatty foods, that's fine. But don't make these foods your daily diet!
If your metabolism can't burn off the excess calories, you will still gain weight.
Forget your diet, start exercising, and enjoy living a healthier life.
