So you want to be a female bodybuilder? Exercising intensely is just one part of being a female bodybuilder. You see how those hot bodies in the magazines? Well, they have spent a lot of time and effort on their diet as well.

Why is the diet so crucial to a female bodybuilder? The reason is that without a proper diet, you can't really support the intensive exercise regime that you are going through. In fact, if you don't eat properly, intensive exercising may even be harmful to your body. Your muscles become weaker because there is not enough nutrition to repair and strengthen the muscles.

So what sort of diet would be suitable for a female bodybuilder? Well, here is a quick disclaimer. In general, the human body needs protein, which it then breaks down into amino acids to support the growth of muscle tissue. However, when it comes to the exact diet, different individuals will have to their own specific nutrition plans. That is because each individual is built differently. For example, people who weigh more may need to consume more protein to sustain the muscle mass that they are building up. Or some people may be lactose intolerant and plant protein from soy beans tend to work better.

Use the below recommendations as guidelines when drafting your female bodybuilding diet.

1) Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. - Fruits and veggies have got antioxidant properties and will help your body maintain good health. With a good foundation, you will find that you recover faster from workouts and you will also see results faster.

2) Stick with whey protein isolate - There are really 3 types of protein powders: hydrolyzed, isolate and concentrate. Hydrolyzed whey protein is the easiest to be absorbed by the body, but they don't last long and can be costly. Isolate whey protein is a high quality protein that is consumed by many professional bodybuilders. Concentrate tend to be of lower quality. So when you go shopping for protein powders, lookout for whey protein ISOLATE.

3) Multivitamins. - Take multivitamins so that you body can ingest the protein that you are consuming properly. If you don't have a strong base, forget about bodybuilding. You are not going to put on the mass you are hoping to gain.
