Female Bodybuilding Workout Plan

Developing a workout plan can be an impossible task especially if you have zero experience. Lots of questions are probably floating in your head right now, with no answers. Questions like...

Where do I start?

What kind of diet should I adopt?

What type of workouts will be most effective?

How many time should I work out each week?

For how long?

etc, etc, etc...

Now before you start seeking answers to those questions, the first thing you need to do is to be clear about your goals.

You can't really come up with a good exercise program if you are not clear about what you want to achieve. Do you want performance? If so, what kind of results do you want to achieve?

Or you do want to look good?

Figure building is different from body building.

The two involves similar principles though. But knowing the difference helps you develop your program further.

Your goals, will eventually boil down to one of the following:

A) Having a well toned body with enhanced metabolism.

B) Having a slim body with just skeleton and skin.

C) Having a muscled body with ripping muscles.

From a female bodybuilding poll, most ladies would have chosen A.

Some will choose B. These are usually those who are influenced heavily by the media. They see skinny models on the magazine covers, and they probably think that being skinny is beautiful. So they force the body to lose all muscle and fat to achieve the results they want. The process usually results in the body breaking down with some kind of disorder.

Luckily, most women are smart enough to figure that out.

All they want is a body with lean muscle. Lean muscles contributes to an higher metabolism rate, which helps burn fat. BURN FAT - that is what most ladies are looking for.

With a higher metabolism, these individuals can eat more and still stay toned.

So what's the secret?

The secret is in building a HIGHER METABOLISM.

That is the core of your exercise program. Everything you do, should be geared towards increasing your metabolism.

But here comes the bad news.

To build a higher metabolism, it means you have to engage in strength training.

And no, walking, jogging, low tempo stuff is not strength training. In fact, such activities may even harm your body.

In order to improve your metabolism, you have to build muscle. And the only way to build muscle, is to increase the intensity of the exercise.

Here is where most ladies will ask this question - Won't intensity build bulky muscles?

The answer is no. You see, the way the female body is built doesn't allow for muscles to build up easily. Those bulky girls that you see on bodybuilding magazines? They are there for entertainment.

In reality, it is very difficult for a female to build up bulky muscles. Female bodybuilders appear big because they are taking some kind of supplement to build muscle mass.

And they have very different goals from you.

They are probably in some kind of bodybuilding competition, and they NEED those muscles in order to win.

You are NOT in a bodybuilding competition. So you don't need to bulk up, if you don't want to.

So stop worrying about looking like a She-hulk the moment you work out with intensity. You won't.

Accepting the fact that you need to train intensely is a good start. Your workout program should consist of two major components.

A) Your workout routine.

This is your exercise program. How many times you exercise per week, how many repetitions should you do, etc. This is Part 1.

B) Your diet.

If you don't get this right, you are just wasting time. Exercising alone won't get you to where you want to be. You need to know what to eat and learn how to feed those muscles. Otherwise, your muscles become weaker, or you end up putting on more weight.

So three things you take away from this article:

1) Be clear about your goals.
2) You won't get BIG just by working out intensely.
3) You need both components for the program to work - workout routine and proper diet.

You are then ready to develop your own custom workout program, with the help of a certified trainer of course.
