So what kind of exercises can you engage in if you are looking to get 6 pack abs? Here are some recommended workouts.

First, you have to understand that you ALREADY have 6 pack abs on your tummy. The problem is, the abs are covered by a layer of fat. The fat blocks the abs from being visible. I'll show you how to get rid of the fat at the end of the article. For now, let's look at what you can do to build up the ab muscles - bigger muscles tend to look better and are more visible.

Before getting started, don't think that those fancy ab machines you see on TV commercials are going to help you out. They won't and you don't need them. To grow your ab muscles, you only need to do very basic ab exercises. Here are some of them.

Sit ups.
Crunches with hands touching the knees.
Side crunches.
Leg lifts (lie down and lift up both legs at the same time).

Repeat the above exercises for 3 to 4 sets each and you will have a tight core very soon.

So now you feel the strength seeping into your core and you just know that the muscles are growing. Now you want to show the world you have been working hard to build up those abs.

To burn fat, you have to engage in cardio. This is the part when most people give up. Well, you are striving to become a female bodybuilder aren't you? If so, then you shouldn't be like all the rest - you MUST learn to love cardio.

Why must you engage in cardio? Well, cardio is the best form of exercise that can help you burn fat. If you are thinking of burning fat by doing hundreds of sit ups, FORGET IT! It doesn't work that way. You don't burn off tummy fat by doing tummy exercises. You build up muscle mass that way. You burn off tummy fat by doing cardio - i.e. burning fat from your ENTIRE body.

The good news is, fat doesn't just disappear from the tummy area when you do cardio. Fat from the entire body starts to disappear. That is when your 6 pack abs start to show up. Problem solved!
